Omnisend
Email and SMS built only for stores
Omnisend is the sharpest ecommerce email tool below Klaviyo's price, and its focus is exactly why it beats general platforms at this job.
Where it wins. The pre-built flows are the product: cart abandonment, browse abandonment, welcome, and post-purchase sequences ship configured rather than as blank canvases, so a store is recovering revenue on day one instead of week three. Email and SMS share one automation and one contact list, which is genuinely rare at this price. Segmentation understands purchase behaviour — lifetime value, product categories, order counts — natively. Shopify and WooCommerce integration is deep, and revenue attribution per flow is clear enough to justify the subscription in the dashboard.
Where it falls short. It is useless outside ecommerce; a blogger or consultant is paying for machinery they will never start. The template editor is capable but less refined than Mailchimp. Pricing rises with contacts, and SMS credits are charged separately on top. Deliverability is good but not ConvertKit good.
Our call. The default recommendation for small and mid-sized stores. Anyone not selling products should look elsewhere entirely.
Best for
Shopify and WooCommerce store owners who want email and SMS revenue flows working immediately.
Key takeaways
- 1Cart, browse, and post-purchase flows ship pre-built and tuned
- 2Email and SMS share one automation and one contact list
- 3Segmentation understands purchase behaviour natively
- 4Clear revenue attribution per automation
- 5No value at all outside ecommerce
- 6SMS credits billed separately on top of the plan
Omnisend does one thing: marketing for online stores. Every automation, segment, and report assumes you sell products, which means the abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows that generic platforms make you build are already there and already tuned. If you do not run a store, none of that value applies.

Frequently asked questions
Is Omnisend only for ecommerce?+
Effectively yes. Every automation, segment, and report assumes you sell products. A blogger or consultant would be paying for machinery they never use.
Does Omnisend include SMS?+
Yes, in the same automations and against the same contact list as email — which is unusual at this price. SMS credits are billed separately on top of the plan.
How does it compare to Klaviyo?+
Omnisend is meaningfully cheaper and covers most of what a small or mid-sized store needs. Klaviyo is deeper on predictive analytics and complex segmentation, and costs accordingly.
How good is deliverability?+
Good, not category-leading. It is comfortably sufficient for ecommerce sending; a specialist like ConvertKit measures better in like-for-like tests.
