Buyer’s guide
What you are actually buying
Every tool in this category schedules posts. The differences that matter are elsewhere: how many social accounts a plan covers before you have to upgrade, which networks are genuinely supported versus listed on the marketing page, and whether analytics are deep enough to justify the subscription on their own.
The four questions that decide it
- How many accounts and users? This is the real pricing lever. A tool that looks cheap at three accounts often doubles when you add a client.
- Which networks? Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn support all vary in quality. Direct publishing beats push notifications — check which you are getting.
- Do you need an inbox? Managing comments and DMs across networks in one place is a genuine time saver for teams and irrelevant for solo creators.
- How good is the reporting? Most tools stop at reach and engagement. Only some tie posts to traffic or revenue.
Where budgets usually go wrong
Buying an enterprise suite for a one-person operation is the most common mistake, closely followed by buying a cheap scheduler and paying for a separate analytics tool six months later. Match the tier to the number of accounts you will run in a year, not today.
